Product Specific Information

  • Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

This gene encodes a type II transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the M28 peptidase family.
The protein acts as a glutamate carboxypeptidase on various substrates, including folate and N-acetyl-L-aspartyl-L-glutamate, and is expressed in tissues such as prostate, central and peripheral nervous system, and kidney.
Mutations may lead to impaired intestinal folate absorption and hyperhomocysteinemia.
In the prostate, this protein is upregulated in cancerous cells and serves as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for prostate cancer.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
