Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The SMPD1 gene encodes lysosomal acid sphingomyelinase, which converts sphingomyelin to ceramide and exhibits phospholipase C activity.
Mutations in this gene are associated with Niemann–Pick disease type A (NPA) and type B (NPB).
Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified.
