This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for Ferret CD20/MS4A1.

Target Information

CD20 is a non-glycosylated surface phosphoprotein with a molecular weight of 33–37 kDa depending on phosphorylation. It is expressed on mature and most malignant B cells, a subpopulation of T lymphocytes, and follicular dendritic cells.

CD20 expression on B cells is synchronous with surface IgM expression and regulates:

• Transmembrane calcium conductance
• Cell cycle progression
• B-cell proliferation

CD20 associates with lipid rafts, and its interaction depends on extracellular triggers and BCR aggregation. Following receptor ligation, CD20 remains at the cell surface even after BCR endocytosis.

CD20 serves as a useful target for antibody-mediated therapeutic depletion of B cells, as it is highly expressed on most B-cell malignancies but does not internalize or shed from the membrane following monoclonal antibody treatment.
