Target Information
TRPA1 is a TRP-related channel responsive to cold temperatures and pungent compounds, playing roles in nociceptor and hair cell transduction. It is associated with transformation in lung epithelia and primarily distributed in sensory neurons. Blocking TRPA1 may aid in treating cold hyperalgesia due to inflammation or nerve damage. TRPA1 expression extends beyond the CNS and is dysregulated during oncogenic transformation. Structurally, TRPA1 relates to ankyrin and transmembrane proteins, potentially involved in signal transduction and growth control.
