For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD43 (leukosialin, sialophorin) is a transmembrane mucin-like protein with a high negative charge, expressed on most hematopoietic cells. It contributes to a repulsive barrier that interferes with cellular adhesion but can also promote leukocyte aggregation.
By interacting with actin-binding proteins ezrin and moesin, CD43 regulates T-cell morphology and cell-cell interactions during lymphocyte trafficking. It modulates LFA-1 adhesiveness and signaling pathways, influencing tumor suppressor p53 activity.
CD43 dysfunction is associated with Wiscott-Aldrich Syndrome and Adenoid Basal Cell Carcinoma.
