Product Specific Information
Reconstitution:
Centrifuge the vial briefly before opening. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile distilled water to 0.1–1.0 mg/mL. Divide into aliquots and store at -20°C. Further dilutions should be made in low endotoxin medium or buffer containing carrier protein (e.g., heat-inactivated FCS or tissue culture grade BSA).
Storage:
Store the lyophilized protein at 2–8°C or -20°C for long-term storage (preferably desiccated). After reconstitution, aliquot and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
Interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) is a proinflammatory cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells in response to inflammatory stimuli. It is synthesized as a 31 kDa inactive pro-form and activated through inflammasome-mediated cleavage by caspase-1 into a 17 kDa active form. IL-1β lacks a classical signal sequence and is secreted via a non-conventional pathway. It signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1α, and its activity is modulated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA). IL-1β plays a key role in innate immunity, promoting cytokine production and acute-phase responses. Elevated IL-1β levels are linked to chronic inflammatory diseases, and IL-1β neutralizing antibodies have potential therapeutic applications.
