Target Information
The concentrative nucleoside transporter (CNT) family includes CNT1, CNT2, and CNT3. CNT2 is involved in the absorption and disposition of endogenous nucleosides and mediates the first step of nucleotide biosynthesis. Its expression is regulated by insulin levels and the Adenosine 1 receptor. CNT proteins influence the uptake of anticancer and antiviral nucleoside analogs and may play a role in energy metabolism through ATP-sensitive K⁺ channels.
