Target Information
Carboxypeptidase A1 (CPA1) is a 419 amino acid secreted monomeric protein highly expressed in pancreatic tissue.
It functions as a zinc-dependent exopeptidase, catalyzing the release of C-terminal amino acids from proteins to aid in digestion and degradation.
CPA1 may also play a role in zymogen inhibition, regulating enzyme activation pathways.
Abnormal CPA1 expression is associated with pancreatic cancer, suggesting involvement in tumor progression or suppression.
