Target Information

RIPK3 is a member of the receptor-interacting protein (RIP) family of serine/threonine kinases. It has a unique C-terminal domain distinguishing it from other RIP family members. RIPK3 is mainly localized in the cytoplasm and mitochondria, participating in nucleocytoplasmic shuttling via nuclear localization and export signals.
It is part of the TNF receptor-I signaling complex, capable of inducing apoptosis and weakly activating NF-κB. Caspase-8 prevents RIPK3-dependent necrosis by forming a proteolytically active complex with CFLAR, necessary for its protective function.
