Target Information

The homeobox DNA-binding domain is a 60 amino acid motif conserved among species, functioning to bind DNA via a helix-turn-helix structure and regulate transcription.
PRRX1 (paired related homeobox 1), also known as PMX1 or PHOX1, is a 245 amino acid nuclear protein containing one OAR domain and one homeobox DNA-binding domain, belonging to the paired homeobox family. It acts as a transcriptional co-activator enhancing serum response factor (SRF) activity and regulates creatine kinase-M transcription, contributing to mesodermal muscle formation.
PRRX1 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms, PMX1-A and PMX1-B.
