This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of murine CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a single chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells. It constitutes approximately 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins and is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues.
CD45 regulates Src-family kinases and JAK kinases, playing a key role in lymphocyte development, antigen signaling, and cytokine receptor regulation.
It also modulates integrin-mediated signaling, apoptosis, and various immune functions. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains while sharing transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions.
