RALA는 다양한 세포 과정(유전자 발현, 세포 이동, 증식, 종양 변형, 막 수송)에 관여하는 다기능 GTPase입니다. 여러 하위 효과기와 상호작용하여 GTP 의존적 분비, 세포질분열 초기 단계, exocyst 복합체의 tethering을 조절합니다. 또한 integrin-의존적 막 raft exocytosis 및 성장 신호 조절에 관여하며, LPAR1 신호 조절의 핵심 인자로 작용합니다.
