Product Specific Information

The 390 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD31, also known as platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1) and gpIIa. This 130–140 kDa surface protein is expressed by endothelial cells and at low levels on all leukocytes and platelets. CD38 binds to CD31, and homotypic interaction of CD31 is important in adhesion, cell-cell and cell-matrix interaction, and signal transduction.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Optimize antibody titration for best performance.

eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®. It emits at 445 nm and is excited with the Violet laser (405 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information

CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through ITIM motifs. It is expressed ubiquitously in the vascular compartment, mainly at junctions between adjacent cells. The N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, essential for cell-cell interactions. CD31 plays roles in integrin-mediated adhesion, transendothelial migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, immune regulation, autoimmunity, macrophage phagocytosis, IgE-mediated anaphylaxis, and thrombosis. It is a key regulatory molecule in the vascular system.
