Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 binds non-covalently with alpha integrins CD49a–f to form VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, as well as with CD51. These heterodimers mediate cellular responses such as adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins bind extracellular matrix proteins (collagen, laminin, fibronectin, vitronectin) and interact with receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Validated for flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells at ≤1 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration recommended.

Fluorophore Information:
eFluor® 450 is an alternative to Pacific Blue®, excited at 405 nm and emits at 445 nm. Ensure instrument compatibility with Violet laser detection.

Filtration:
0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types, including leukocytes. ITGB1 forms heterodimers with alpha chains (α1–α6), determining VLA integrin binding properties. Functions as a cell adhesion molecule, involved in platelet activation and extracellular matrix binding. ITGB1 expression correlates with multidrug resistance and immune cell trafficking. It also regulates inflammation-related tissue damage. Two major forms, β1A and β1D, show tissue-specific distribution.
