IL4 Receptor alpha (IL4RA)는 인터루킨-4 수용체의 알파 사슬로, 인터루킨-4 및 인터루킨-13과 결합하여 IgE 생성, 케모카인 및 점액 생성 조절에 관여합니다. 이는 알레르기 염증 부위에서 Th2 분화 촉진에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
분비형 IL4R 알파(sIL4R alpha)는 IL4 매개 세포 증식과 T세포의 IL5 상향 조절을 억제할 수 있으나, 신호 전달 능력은 없습니다.
IL4RA 유전자의 대립유전자 변이는 알레르기 비염, 부비동염, 천식 또는 습진 등의 아토피 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
