Target Information
IL-3Ra (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha) belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family and forms a heterodimer with a unique alpha chain paired with the common beta (βc or CDw131) subunit.
IL-3Ra mediates the signal transmission of Interleukin-3. Dimerization of IL-3Ra and IL-3Rb chains is induced by Interleukin-3, which is required for receptor activation but not for high-affinity binding.
IL-3Ra is reported to be overexpressed on acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blasts compared to normal hematopoietic cells and thus represents a potential target for novel therapeutic agents.
