Product Specific Information

• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
• Anti-IL-22 is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum via delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis.
• Specific for human IL-22 protein. BLAST analysis suggests 100% homology with human IL-22 sequence.
• Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin and anti-Rabbit Serum.
• Cross-reactivity with IL-22 from other species has not been determined.

Target Information

IL-22, also known as IL-10-related T-cell derived inducible factor, is an alpha-helical cytokine and member of the IFN–IL-10 family (IL-19, IL-20, IL-24, IL-26, IL-28, IL-29, and type I/II interferons).
Produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells, the IL-22 gene is located on chromosome 12q and structurally related to IL-10.
It binds a heterodimeric receptor complex (IL-22R1 and IL-10R2) to activate JAK-STAT signaling.
IL-22BP acts as a soluble antagonist.
Major targets are nonimmune cells such as keratinocytes, hepatocytes, and epithelial cells.
IL-22, co-expressed with IL-17A and IL-17F by Th17 cells, regulates innate immunity genes and promotes wound healing and defense against extracellular pathogens.
It is upregulated in activated T cells and mediates IL-23-induced dermal inflammation via STAT3 activation.
