Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-15. Anti-Human IL-15-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hIL-15 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-15 (500-P15) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hIL-15.

Western Blot:
To detect hIL-15 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hIL-15 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer (NK) cell activation and proliferation. IL-15 and IL-2 share many biological activities and bind common hematopoietin receptor subunits, potentially competing for the same receptor and regulating each other’s activity. IL-15 influences CD8+ memory cell balance and activates JAK kinases and transcription factors STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6.
In mice, IL-15 may increase expression of apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-xL through STAT6 activation, preventing apoptosis. It plays a key role in growth and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes, NK cells, macrophages, and monocytes, and is involved in immune responses, allograft rejection, and autoimmune disease pathogenesis.
IL-15 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine associated with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammatory diseases. Neutralization of IL-15 has shown potential therapeutic benefits in models of psoriasis and diabetes.
