For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The progesterone receptor (PR) is part of the steroid nuclear receptor family and mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which is essential in pregnancy establishment and maintenance.
PR exists as two isoforms:

• Form A (94 kDa)
• Form B (120 kDa)

PR-B is the transcriptionally active form responsible for gene activation related to endometrial maintenance and ovulation inhibition. PR-A lacks 165 amino acids at the N-terminus, exposing an inhibitory domain that represses steroid hormone transcriptional activity.

In its inactive state, PgR forms a multiprotein complex with heat shock proteins and immunophilins. Upon progesterone binding, the receptor undergoes conformational change, dimerizes, and binds to progesterone response elements (PRE), activating transcription.
A null mutation in the PGR gene causes reproductive abnormalities.
