Product Specific Information
The MAb11 antibody reacts with human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF alpha), a 17 kDa cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells, and CD4+ T cells. TNF alpha exhibits cytolytic activity against various tumor cells and plays a key role in immune regulation. It forms dimers and trimers and also exists in a 26 kDa membrane-bound form.
This MAb11 antibody is a neutralizing antibody suitable for intracellular staining and flow cytometric analysis.

Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
It exists as multimers (dimers, trimers, pentamers) and shows a single 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE.
Knockout studies in mice indicate TNF alpha’s neuroprotective function and tumor necrosis activity.
It is implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer, and plays roles in immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections.
