Product Specific Information
Description:
The eBio18F10 antibody reacts with mouse IL-17F, a 37 kD homodimeric cytokine of the IL-17 family and a signature Th17 marker. IL-17F shares 50% amino acid identity with IL-17A, and both genes are closely located on the same chromosome. IL-17F and IL-17A are co-regulated during Th17 differentiation and expressed in activated human CD4⁺ T cells.
IL-17F is associated with inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, inflammatory bowel disease, and asthma. It induces expression of inflammatory mediators including IL-6, IL-8, GRO-α, ENA-78, TGF-β, MCP-1, G-CSF, GM-CSF, and ICAM-1 in various cell types.
IL-17F forms disulfide-linked homodimers with a cysteine knot motif, and can also form IL-17A/F heterodimers with biological activity. These heterodimers regulate cytokine expression such as IL-6 and KC via IL-17RA and TRAF6 pathways.

Target Information
IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8):
A cytokine of the IL-17 family produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. It contributes to allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in epithelial, endothelial, and fibroblast cells.
IL-17F can exist as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A, acting via IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils by increasing chemokine production. It stimulates pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8, and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
TGF-β and IL-23 are essential for Th17 cell differentiation and maintenance. IL-17F inhibits angiogenesis and induces IL-2, TGFB1, and MCP-1 production in endothelial cells.
