Target Information
Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) is an important factor involved in dendritic cell maturation and activation. It contributes to the selection of regulatory T cells, maintenance of CD4+ T cell homeostasis, and induction of CD4+ T cell-mediated allergic responses.
TSLP supports the growth and differentiation of fetal liver and adult B cell progenitors.
Its receptor (TSLP-R) binds TSLP with low affinity in transfected cells, but co-transfection with IL-7R-alpha cDNA forms a high-affinity, functional heteromeric complex. This receptor complex requires STAT5 for TSLP-mediated signaling and is inhibited by SOCS-1.
