Target Information
Ankyrin-G is found in several tissues, including the brain, where tissue-specific RNA processing produces two isoforms localized to axon initial segments and nodes of Ranvier. It is also present at epithelial cell-cell contacts and intracellular membranes.
Ankyrin-G isoforms contain a serine/threonine-rich sequence following a globular head domain and are thought to maintain and target ion channels and cell adhesion molecules to nodes of Ranvier and axon initial segments.
