Product Specific Information

The II/41 monoclonal antibody reacts with the μ heavy chain of mouse IgM and does not cross-react with other immunoglobulin classes (IgD, IgG, IgA). IgM is expressed intracellularly during early B cell development and on the surface of mature B cells.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and immunocytochemistry.
• Applications Tested:
  • Flow cytometry of mouse bone marrow cells: ≤1.0 µg/test (100 µL volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
  • Immunocytochemistry: ≤10 µg/mL using mouse IgM primary antibody.
  • Titrate for optimal performance.

Super Bright 780 Dye:

• Excitation: 405 nm; Emission: 780 nm
• Recommended filter: 780/60 bandpass
• Use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) when combining multiple Super Bright dyes.
• Compensation should be set using cells rather than beads in some cases.
• Light sensitive — protect from light.
• Fixation: Store samples in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
• Performance after fixation may vary by clone.

Target Information

Mouse IgM is an immunoglobulin M antibody produced by B cells in response to antigens. It is the first antibody generated during an immune response and plays a key role in complement activation and antigen agglutination. Composed of five heavy and five light chains, it is essential in innate immunity and widely used in ELISA, Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
