Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 1B2hsp70 recognizes HSP70 (heat shock protein 70). HSPs are highly conserved molecular chaperones that stabilize or assist in the folding of new or denatured proteins under stress conditions. Expression of HSPs is both constitutive and inducible depending on the cell type and environment.
This antibody recognizes the HSP70 family member 1A, found in the cytoplasm and nucleus of various cell types. Due to high conservation, the 1B2hsp70 clone is expected to recognize canine and monkey HSP70 1a.

Target Information
HSP70 is a heat shock protein expressed in response to biological stresses such as high temperature. The HSP70 family includes HSP70, HSP90, and HSP100, all highly conserved across species. In humans, members include:
- HSP70: inducible and constitutively expressed in primate cells
- HSP72: induced exclusively under stress
- HSC70: constitutive, involved in clathrin-coated vesicle uncoating
- GRP78 (BiP): 78 kDa, localized in the endoplasmic reticulum
- p75 (HSP75): mitochondrial protein
HSP70 is encoded by an intronless gene and stabilizes proteins against aggregation, mediates folding, and participates in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway via interaction with AU-rich element RNA-binding protein 1. The HSP70 gene resides in the MHC class III region with two related genes encoding similar proteins.
