Product Specific Information

This 9M1-3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Galectin-9, a member of the galectin family of glycan-binding proteins. It is expressed on activated T helper cells and Foxp3+ T regulatory cells, playing a key role in immune regulation. Interaction with TIM3 induces apoptosis in Th1 and Th17 cells, inhibits Th17 polarization and IFN-γ expression, and promotes Treg expansion.

Galectin-9 may also contribute to tumor survival and immune evasion, with high expression associated with poor cancer prognosis.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry on human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per 100 µL test volume. Cell number may vary (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

Galectins are β-galactoside-binding proteins involved in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The encoded protein is an S-type lectin, overexpressed in Hodgkin’s disease tissue, and may play a role in disease pathogenesis and associated immunodeficiency. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
