Product Specific Information
The UCHT1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. The epsilon chain, along with gamma and delta subunits, is essential for proper assembly and surface expression of the TCR complex. CD3 is expressed by thymocytes and mature T cells. Crosslinking via UCHT1 triggers intracellular signaling leading to activation and proliferation.

Target Information
The CD3 complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded on chromosome 11. They associate with signal transduction molecules via a tyrosine-based motif. CD3 is expressed on most T lymphocytes and thymocytes but not on B or NK cells. Defects in CD3 genes can lead to immunodeficiency.
