Antibodies to this protein (and modification) were previously sold as part of a Thermo Scientific Cellomics High Content Screening Kit.
This replacement antibody is recommended for researchers needing an antibody for high-content cell-based assays.
Validated for cellular immunofluorescence (IF) applications. Further optimization, including the selection of the most appropriate fluorescent DyLight-conjugated secondary antibody, may be required for high-content assays.

  • It is not recommended to aliquot this antibody.
  • This antibody is not cross-reactive with other phosphorylated heat shock proteins.

Target Information

Cells respond to environmental stress by increasing expression of heat shock or stress proteins.
HSPB1 (heat shock protein beta-1 or HSP27) functions as a molecular chaperone that maintains denatured proteins in a folding-competent state.
It plays roles in stress resistance and actin organization, regulating biological processes such as phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in the gene can result in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
