Antibody detects endogenous levels of GRF-1 only when phosphorylated at Tyrosine 1105.
Target Information
RNA polymerase (Pol) III synthesizes tRNA, 5S rRNA, 7SL RNA, and U6 snRNA, and is overexpressed in many transformed cell lines and tumors. Rapidly growing cells require high levels of Pol III transcribed RNA, which depends on TFIIIB and TFIIIC2 transcription factor complexes.
TFIIIC2 complex (TFIIIC220, TFIIIC110, TFIIIC102, TFIIIC90, TFIIIC63) is overexpressed in malignant cells and recruits RNA Pol III and TFIIIB to promoter elements, potentially contributing to deregulation in cancer.
TFIIIB complex includes TBP, TFIIIB90 (BRF1), and other factors, which are upregulated in transformed cells. In many carcinomas, tumor suppressors RB and p53 are inactivated, affecting TFIIIB regulation.
