Target Information
SIRT7는 효모 Sir2 단백질과 상동성을 가진 sirtuin 단백질 패밀리의 구성원입니다. sirtuin 패밀리는 sirtuin core domain을 특징으로 하며, 네 가지 클래스로 구분됩니다. SIRT7은 class IV에 속합니다. 인간 sirtuin의 기능은 아직 명확히 규명되지 않았으나, 효모 sirtuin 단백질은 후성유전적 유전자 침묵(epigenetic gene silencing) 및 rDNA 재조합 억제에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 연구 결과, 인간 sirtuin 단백질은 mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가진 세포 내 조절 단백질로 작용할 가능성이 제시되고 있습니다.
