Target Information
The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammals comprises a group of transmembrane proteins characterized by multiple leucine-rich repeats in the extracellular domain and an IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. TLRs act through adaptor molecules and play a crucial role in innate immunity and microbial recognition.
TLR12 shows expression in macrophages and in epithelial cells of the liver, kidney, and bladder, and does not respond to known TLR ligands.
