Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes FOXP1 (Forkhead box protein P1). It binds to a folded domain (amino acids 302–541). FOXP1 is a transcriptional repressor that plays an important role in the specification and differentiation of lung epithelium.
Target Information
The FOXP1 gene belongs to subfamily P of the forkhead box (FOX) transcription factor family. FOX transcription factors regulate tissue- and cell type-specific gene transcription during development and adulthood.
FOXP1 contains both DNA-binding and protein–protein binding domains and may act as a tumor suppressor, as it is lost in several tumor types. It maps to chromosomal region 3p14.1, which is reported to contain tumor suppressor gene(s).
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
