This antibody specifically targets the non-signalling alpha chain of the FceR1 complex.
Target Information
FceR1 (Fc epsilonR1 alpha) is a subunit of the high affinity receptor of IgE. Fc epsilonR1 alpha is part of a tetrameric complex consisting of one alpha, one beta, and two additional subunits required for signal transduction. The Fc epsilonR1 complex plays a key role in initiating allergic responses. When allergen-bound IgE molecules crosslink high-affinity IgE receptors, mediators such as histamine are released, triggering inflammatory responses characteristic of allergies like hay fever and asthma. These mediators also induce synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, potent effectors of hypersensitivity.
