Bromodeoxyuridine (5-bromo-2-deoxyuridine, BrdU)는 티미딘의 유사체인 합성 뉴클레오사이드입니다. BrdU는 살아 있는 조직에서 증식 중인 세포를 검출하는 데 사용되며, DNA 합성 중인 세포(S기)에 새로운 DNA에 포함될 수 있습니다. BrdU 특이적 항체를 이용하면 DNA 복제 중인 세포를 식별할 수 있습니다. 항체 결합을 위해서는 일반적으로 산 또는 열을 이용한 DNA 변성이 필요합니다.
