Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex is essential for transducing antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulating TCR complex expression.
CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded by genes on human chromosome 11.
These subunits have long cytoplasmic tails associated with signal transduction molecules via tyrosine-based motifs.
CD3 plays roles in TCR-induced growth arrest, cell survival, and proliferation.
It is expressed on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells, but not on B or NK cells.
Defects in CD3 genes can cause immunodeficiency.
