Target Information
The protein encoded by the CD37 gene belongs to the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family). These are cell-surface proteins with four hydrophobic domains, mediating signal transduction involved in cell development, activation, growth, and motility.
CD37 is a glycoprotein that interacts with integrins and other tetraspanins, potentially playing a role in T-cell–B-cell interactions. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
