Decorin은 small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) 계열에 속하며, biglycan과 함께 세포외기질에서 콜라겐 및 기타 단백질과 상호작용하여 세포외기질 구조를 조절합니다.
Fibronectin, thrombospondin, C1q, EGFR, TGF-β 등과 상호작용하며, 연골세포의 세포 주기에도 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
Decorin neoepitope fragment는 PKTLQE 서열을 가지며, MMP-3 또는 ADAMTS-4에 의해 Glu154–Leu155 부위에서 절단되어 생성됩니다.
