Target Information

COASY is a bifunctional enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), an essential pathway in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
It catalyzes the final two steps of CoA synthesis, functions that are performed by two separate enzymes—phosphopantetheine adenylyltransferase and dephospho-CoA kinase—in prokaryotes.
