Mouse anti-Human Heparanase-1 antibody, clone HP3/17, recognizes heparanase-1 (HPA1), an endo-beta-D-glucuronidase that degrades heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) in the extracellular matrix through cleavage of the heparan sulfate side chains.
Target Information
Stem cells offer therapeutic potential for many diseases. In diabetes research, stem cells may enable ex vivo generation of beta cells for transplantation and potential cure of Type I diabetes.
For successful application, stem cells must be isolated, expanded, and differentiated toward the beta-cell lineage. Differentiated cell progeny used for transplantation may require isolation from complex mixtures. Appropriate markers targeting cell surface molecules on developing and mature pancreatic cells are essential for such research.
