Mouse anti-Feline leukemia virus p15E antibody, clone PF6J-2A1, recognizes an epitope within the amino-terminal domain of both the 20 kDa full-length (including intracellular sequence) and the 15 kDa truncated forms of the feline leukemia virus (FeLV) p15E transmembrane envelope protein.
Target Information
Feline leukemia virus (FeLV) is a retrovirus that infects cats. It is transmitted as an RNA virus that is reverse transcribed into DNA, counter to the central dogma of molecular biology. FeLV is commonly spread through saliva or nasal secretions between cats. If not cleared by the immune system, infection can lead to lethal disease, including leukemia caused by malignant proliferation of lymphocytes.
