Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-3. Anti-Human IL-3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and subsequently biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hIL-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IL-3 (500-P23) as a capture antibody, this biotinylated polyclonal antibody enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hIL-3.

Western Blot:
For Western Blot detection of hIL-3, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hIL-3 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also known as Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells, and eosinophils.
IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell, and monocytic lineages. Most of these functions are enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines.

Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level, and the bioactivity of IL-3 is highly species-specific. For example, human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells.
IL-3 is a potent growth-promoting cytokine that supports proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types and is involved in cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. It also possesses neurotrophic activity and may be associated with neurologic disorders.
