Target Information
NMT1 (N-myristoyltransferase 1) is involved in the cotranslational attachment of myristate, a rare 14-carbon saturated fatty acid, to the N-terminal glycine residue of cellular and viral proteins. This process is catalyzed by NMT (EC 2.3.1.97) and is essential for the full biological activity of several N-myristoylated proteins, including the alpha subunit of G protein GO (GNAO1).
