Target Information
Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as Src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. The tyrosine phosphorylation of paxillin is influenced by conditions that alter cell-cell adhesion. Paxillin interacts tightly with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain, independently of the extracellular matrix. Although initially discovered in fibroblasts, paxillin phosphorylation may also play a role in neurite extension during differentiation.
