Antibody detects endogenous levels of YAP only when phosphorylated at Serine 127.
Target Information
YAP (Yes-Associated Protein) is a founding member of the WW domain family of proteins, acting as a transcriptional co-activator and oncogene. Its gene is transcriptionally activated in squamous cell carcinoma cells. YAP functions as both coactivator and corepressor and is a critical downstream target in the Hippo signaling pathway, which regulates organ size and tumor suppression by controlling proliferation and promoting apoptosis. It also plays key roles in tissue tension, 3D tissue shape, cell proliferation, cell death, and migration. Mutations in the IRF5 gene result in coloboma.
