Antibody detects endogenous levels of ZEB2 only when phosphorylated at Ser784.
Target Information
ZEB2, initially identified as Smad interacting-protein 1, is a nuclear DNA-binding transcriptional repressor that interacts with activated SMADs. Similar to ZEB1, ZEB2 inhibits E-cadherin transcription and induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), regulating cell migration during embryonic development and wound healing. ZEB2 can protect cells from DNA damage-induced apoptosis, suggesting a role in tumor progression. It has been observed in the cytoplasm of various cancer tissues, implying regulated localization in normal and tumor cells. Mutations in ZEB2 are associated with Hirschsprung disease/Mowat-Wilson syndrome.
