Target Information
Rho-like GTPases는 다양한 세포 과정에 관여하며, GTP 결합 시 활성화되고 GDP로 전환될 때 비활성화됩니다. Guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs)는 Rho GTPases의 GDP 방출을 촉진하여 GTPase 활성화를 가속화합니다.
이 유전자는 RHOA와 RHOB를 활성화하는 guanine nucleotide exchange factor를 암호화하며, 골세포 생물학에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 이 유전자의 유전적 변이가 골밀도(BMD) 결정에 영향을 미쳐 폐경 후 골다공증과 관련이 있음이 밝혀졌습니다.
대체 스플라이싱된 전사체 변형체가 존재하며, 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화합니다.
