Target Information
Rho-like GTPases는 다양한 세포 과정에 관여하며, GTP 결합 시 활성화되고 GTP를 GDP로 전환하는 내재적 GTPase 활성에 의해 비활성화됩니다. Guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs)는 Rho GTPases의 GDP 방출을 촉진하여 GTPase 활성을 가속화합니다.
ARHGEF3 유전자는 RHOA 및 RHOB를 활성화하는 GEF를 암호화하며, 이들은 골세포 생물학에 관여합니다. 이 유전자의 유전적 변이는 골밀도(BMD) 결정에 영향을 미치며, 폐경 후 골다공증과의 관련성이 보고되었습니다. 또한, 다양한 이소폼을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사 변이체가 존재합니다.
