Target Information
The ITGA5 gene encodes the integrin alpha 5 chain, a member of the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains.
Alpha 5 pairs with beta 1 to form the fibronectin receptor, involved in cell adhesion and cell-surface mediated signaling. The alpha chain undergoes post-translational cleavage into disulfide-linked light and heavy chains.
