Description:
The MP4-25D2 antibody reacts with human interleukin-4 (IL-4), a 15–19 kDa cytokine secreted by Th2 cells.

Applications Reported:
Reported for use in detection of human IL-4 by ELISA and for intracellular staining in flow cytometry.

Applications Tested:
Tested as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for human IL-4 analysis, in combination with the purified 8D4-8 (14-7049) antibody for capture and recombinant human IL-4 (14-8049) as the standard.
Recommended detection concentration: 0.5–2 µg/mL.
Include a standard curve with doubling dilutions of recombinant standard from 500 pg/mL to 4 pg/mL in each ELISA plate.

0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 has broad immunomodulatory actions and shares overlapping functions with IL-13 through receptor binding. STAT6 mediates IL-4 signaling. The IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine gene cluster including IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, and CSF2, coordinated by long-range regulatory elements. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
