The BVD6-24G2 antibody reacts with mouse interleukin-4 (IL-4), a 14 kDa cytokine secreted by Th2 cells.
Applications Reported: Used for detection of mouse IL-4 by ELISA.
Applications Tested: Verified as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for mouse IL-4 analysis, in combination with the purified 11B11 (14-7041) antibody for capture and recombinant mouse IL-4 (14-8041) as the standard.
Recommended concentration range for ELISA detection: 0.5–2 µg/mL.
Include a standard curve with doubling dilutions of recombinant standard (500 pg/mL–4 pg/mL) for each ELISA plate.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and serves as a ligand for the interleukin 4 receptor. IL-4 has broad immunoregulatory functions and shares overlapping activities with IL-13 through receptor binding. STAT6 mediates IL-4 signaling. The IL-4 gene is located on chromosome 5q within a cytokine cluster (IL-3, IL-5, IL-13, CSF2). IL-4, IL-13, and IL-5 are co-regulated by long-range elements over a 120 kb region. IL-4 delta 2 is a known splice variant.
